Now on view at Mixed Greens, Yellow Bikini is an exhibition of new paintings, collages, prints, sculptures, and sketchbooks by New York based artist Mark Mulroney. Combining a variety of creative exploits, Mulroney has created an immersive environment for his recent work. Painting messages to the viewer directly onto the walls, Mulroney brings the playful writing that typically accompanies his exhibitions into the gallery space; the exhibition text is of a similar spirit, describing some of the works as “drippy sculptures that are sure to appeal to children and oatmeal lovers alike.” Mulroney’s creations, delightfully playful and sometimes comically disturbing, are presented in groups and pairs throughout the gallery.
