Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s Time-Based Art Festival begins this Thursday, September 8. Now in its 14th year, TBA includes events and exhibitions at PICA and throughout the city of Portland. TBA provides a platform for artists not typically exhibited in the United States, with international participants from Lebanon, Bulgaria, South Korea, France, and beyond. Opening night events for TBA:16 include the unveiling of PICA at Hancock (PICA’s new home), a reception for A.K. Burns’s A Smeary Spot, a performance by Juliana Huxtable, and more. A full schedule of live performances, music, screenings, workshops, talks, and visual art installations is available on the PICA website.
