In the Flesh, Part II: Potential Adaptations
Gallery Diet
6315 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33150
February 6 – March 12, 2016

Now on view at Gallery Diet, In the Flesh, Part II: Potential Adaptations is a group exhibition featuring artists whose work addresses the potential long-term effects of the current state of human consumption, and the possibilities for encountered substances and technologies to affect the appearance and behavior of the human body as well as our understanding of its boundaries. An examination of an uncertain future of the human body, In the Flesh, Part II: Potential Adaptations considers the influences of substances like processed foods, pharmaceutical drugs, beauty and hygiene products, toxic waste, and technologic devices, and the potential for new understandings of the body as container and vehicle. Curated by Courtney Malick, In the Flesh, Part II: Potential Adaptations builds on the previous exhibition In the Flesh Part I: Subliminal Substances at Martos Gallery (Los Angeles, 2015), also curated by Malick. In the Flesh, Part II includes work by Ivana Basic, Hannah Black, Megan Daalder, Cécile B. Evans, and Martha Friedman.
