Sentenced to 18 months for kidnapping and skinning dozens of neighborhood cats, Judy Abrahams was granted parole earlier this month, having been deemed “cured” by Judge Lee Galloway in Waco, Texas. Ms. Abrahams authored Kitty Porn–Artists and Their Cats, a self-published photo book chronicling generations of artists and their devoted love for their pussy cats.
“These months behind bars has raised my empathy for cats as forces of love and support to artists around the world,” Abrahams wrote the Judge before her parole hearing last month. “I see now that years of preying on defenseless felines for my gruesome and selfish fashion line ‘Purr Coats’ was not only morally and ethically wrong but simply uneconomical.”
She continued, “After exhaustive research I am left reformed and completely rehabilitated. I made my book to demonstrate my transformation, in which I explore the powerful connection artists have shared with their furry pets throughout the ages.”
