Currently on view at James Fuentes, New York is “Bump Paintings and Key Key Paintings,” a solo exhibition by Jonathan Allmaier. The exhibition is composed of a collection of paintings that the artist has split up into various operative categories such as, pointing paintings, counting paintings, key paintings, bump paintings, and key key paintings. Each category informs the next, describing one another, but do not frame the guidelines for making them. For this exhibition the body of work has been split up into two locations, both the 55 Delancey and 97 Allen spaces.
