Opening tonight, December 13th is the inaugural solo exhibition for City Limits’ new location in Jack London Square, Oakland. “SEEMless” features a new body of work by  Oakland-based artist, Jonah Susskind. For the exhibition, Susskind has strategically manipulated household building materials and ersatz counterparts alike to establish an off-kilter echo between form and function. Bricks, chain links, and other familiar, pre-fab forms are left “as is” or they are altered by the artist to realistically mimic the surface and qualities of surrogate materials. Oscillating between loose gesture and systematic composition, each work establishes its own system of internal logic, striking a delicate balance between craft, chance, and personal sentiment (poetry?).

Opening Reception: December 13th, 2013. 7-10pm.

“SEEMless” will be on view through January 11th, 2014.
