David Zwirner
525 & 533 West 19th Street, New York, NY 10011
September 14 – October 22, 2016

Now on view at David Zwirner, through patches of corn, wheat and mud is an exhibition of new paintings, drawings, sculptures, and film by Oscar Murillo. through patches of corn, wheat and mud, a large-scale painting from which the exhibition takes its title, is comprised of canvas fragments coated with natural latex and stitched together, combined with a metal armature—this sculptural element is echoed by components of a futile mercantile disposition, an installation that fills a room with a maze-like arrangement of several hundred black paintings and steel structures inspired by morgue tables. The exhibition also includes a presentation of Them, an artist book and travel journal.
