Zachary Armstrong
Hills & Dales
Feuer/Mesler
319 Grand Street, Second Floor, New York, NY 10002
June 23 – July 29, 2016

Now on view at Feuer/Mesler, Hills & Dales is an exhibition of new paintings by Zachary Armstrong. As outlined in a handwritten document by Armstrong serving as a press release (included at the bottom of this page), the new paintings are “not painted but built” and employ encaustic paint for being “almost like clay, ‘built up'”. Armstrong’s intentions are towards a kind of painting that is “packed with detail” and has “no depth”, with figures and elements reading with the flatness of stickers. Another exhibition of new paintings by Armstrong is on view at Tilton Gallery through June 30.
